Tonight I was out to dinner with my lovely girls for Karen's birthday.  We went to BJ's Brewhouse and while we were there I got a chance to watch part of the Giants/Phillies game.  I couldn't help but notice that no one in the restaurant or bar area was very excited about this game.  Honestly, why would they be?  The Angels weren't playing. The Dodgers weren't playing.  So why would they care?  Why would I care since I'm not a baseball fan?

Well...cause it made me miss home.  If I had been at a BJ's up in Monterey or Salinas or San Jose, there would have been cheering and clapping all around me as I tried to eat and have fun with my friends.

Funny how the oddest things can make you homesick.  Congratulations to all you Giant fans out there!

"Every Word You Say, I Think I Should Write Down"

Those are lyrics from the song "Paperweight", they're featured in the movie "Dear John", and I love it.  I have this habit of not being able to study or work in complete silence, so today I stuck it in and have enjoyed half watching it.  One of the perks is that if I'm not paying too much attention to it, I likely won't cry.

It's Wednesday, which means I only have to make it through tonight and tomorrow and this week will be over.  Thank goodness!  I'm taking a short break (obviously) and all I have left to do tonight is write out my note cards so I won't stumble around too much while I'm talking tomorrow (hopefully).

I miss home a lot today.  Corinne keeps bugging me about not being able to go home with her this weekend and I really wish I could!  It'd be so nice, but it's still looking like the soonest I'll be able to go is Thanksgiving/my birthday.  Alright, I guess I'm gonna get back to work now...

Thunder Storms and Rain

Today I got to listen to it thunder pretty much for the entire day! I was probably the only CSULB student walking around smiling as it started to downpour and lightning was cracking overhead.  I love storms and I love this weather!  It needs to stay exactly like this until at least March of next year.

The girls and I are staying warm in our apartment by lighting our fire and eating chicken pot pies.  My hell week is still going on, although it got a little easier because I met with my group and knocked out a midterm.  All that's left are my two group presentations on Thursday which I'll finish and perfect tomorrow.  Hopefully both of them will go super smooth.  Hope you guys are having a good week! Tomorrow is hump day and we'll be that much closer to the weekend!

Hell Week

This weekend has officially started my hell week.  I have more homework, presentations, and tests this week than I will any other week this semester.  I'm quite honestly freaking out, but I've reached that point where I'm too stressed and too tired to keep studying or trying tonight.  Not to mention that physically my body is aching and emotionally all I want to do is cry.

Hope everyone had a better weekend than I did!

Four

I was reading Meg's blog today and came across this and decided to do it since I can't think of anything particularly witty to write.

4 Things I Did Today:
1. I worked and had eight clear ups by the time I had worked four hours. (I had 15 in 6 hours last night!)
2. Learned a lot about online dating for my group presentation/research paper.
3. Watched "The Fox and the Hound" for the first time in years and laughed a lot. Then watched "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" and about died laughing.
4. Check my phone for no reason more than I do normally....just wishing he would call even though it's very late.

4 Things On My To Do List:
1. Finish the mountain of homework that is all due next week tomorrow and Monday.
2. Vacuum my room and living room before the roomies get home tomorrow.
3. Do the dishes that are in the sink.
4. Rest.

4 Guilty Pleasures:
1. Reading taza's blog
2. Disney movies
3. Nicolas Spark's books...especially when men in uniform are involved.
4. Anything coffee.

4 Random Facts:
1. I don't think I dress like an adult and long for having the money to update my wardrobe.
2. If I could have anything alcoholic to drink it'd be a beer. I like it even though most people I know don't.
3. I sleep half way down my bed with my feet planted firmly on the foot board...every night.
4. The weather has been gloomy the last few days and it's made me incredibly happy.

I Can't Wait For This...

Make fun if you want, but I think it's gonna be great and I can't believe how much I like her song!

There's No Fire!!!

I thought I would share with you a particular incident that has happened to me three times since moving into our apartment!!

My bathroom is tiny.  Super tiny, so when I take a shower with the door closed it gets very steamy and I can't see the mirror when I get out.  However, if I take a shower with the bathroom door open, way less steam which makes getting ready easier.  Make sense?

Anyways, so these three times that I've taken a shower and this incident has happened, I've been mid shampoo or, like today, mid shaving my legs and my smoke detector has started to go off.  Yes, my smoke detector!  So I've had to fly out of the shower, grab a towel, and try to shut the dang thing up, which only happens when I unplug it, three times now!

I don't understand it. There's no smoke, my room isn't super steamy, and it's just ridiculous! I'm afraid someone's gonna hear it and call the fire department for no reason.  Ah!

Just thought I would share. It's Friday so.... Happy Start to the Weekend!

P.S. I don't think my smoke detector's cute.

Thoughts and Such

I want to go home.

I'm jealous that Hannah gets to go home this weekend.

My baby brother turned thirteen years old a few days ago.

I'm happy we went grocery shopping.

Carmel Apple coffee creamer was a good idea in theory.

This weekend is going to be spent working and doing lots of homework.

Plane tickets should be cheaper.

Gilmore Girls makes me laugh a lot no matter how much I've watched it.

I'm tired.

PS: My sister, Candace, takes amazing pictures.
