gearing up

It's another fall four day this weekend.
I'm about to get my Google on and find some cool things happening in and around our new state.
Now that we have the truck I'm itching to get out and explore.  Sitting around and being lazy is great, but the crispness in the air makes me want to go adventuring in scarfs and sweaters.
I apologize in advance for my lack of posts and make a promise to myself that I will charge the camera and take it with us so I will have fun things to share!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Get out and do something!

football weekend.

Yesterday I got to go to my first East Carolina University football game against the Tennessee Tigers.
It was so much fun and I feel like Long Beach needs to step up their game and get their football team back.
Here's a couple pictures from the day!
I hope y'all are having a great weekend so far!

Look how big my cousins are getting! I love my boys!

Finally.

It's finally cold.
Cold like I'm wearing multiple layers cold.
Cold like all the windows are closed.
Cold like we really need to light a fire.

It was nice waking up to the rain and thunder.
It's really nice to pull out long sleeve shirts from the garage.
It's really nice to say, "So long," to the humidity.

It's not nice that I didn't have anyone to cuddle with this morning.
It's not nice that I'm sitting on the couch by myself.
It's not nice that this month is going by so slow.

Happy Sunday lovelies.
Be it hot or cold, I hope you have a wonderful day.

Letters on this hot Friday

Dear weather, you were so crisp and cool for the briefest of moments and then today you decided to be a scorcher.  Please cool off for the first day of Fall tomorrow.  Dear Fall, I'm so excited for you.  I can't wait to pull out my long sleeve shirts and sweaters and snuggle up with my hubby when you decide to really get cold.  Dear insurance, you have been nothing but a pain since the accident.  I'm sure you're busy, but a timely phone call back shouldn't be too hard (My job used to be phone calls. I know how crazy it can get, but it's not that hard to make all the calls you need to in a day).  Dear second day curls, I'm liking the way you look today! That's a first!  Dear parents and siblings, I miss you like crazy.  Summer is way too far away and I think you need to come see us now. Ready, set, go.  Dear future home of our own, I hope you come around soon.  We're anxious to get started in our own place!  Dear husband,  thank you for being amazing these last couple weeks.  I really like being married to you.

hot goodness

How long has it been since I've sat down with a steaming cup of tea or coffee in the morning?
Too long is the answer.

This morning I was up earlier than I normally am.
I stepped outside and was met with humidity free, crisp and cool air.
I immediately wanted to have a cup of coffee and snuggle up on the couch with a blanket.

Fall is in the air and I can't wait for it!

Linking up and Fall

Cold weather has moved in on the Central Coast and I'm beyond excited!
It's supposed to rain and be windy and cold the entire weekend.
After 80 degree weather for weeks it's a welcomed break.

Speaking of fall, let's listen to Kenny Chesney sing about one of the perks of fall shall we?

30 Days of Thankfulness

Hey ya'll!
Can you believe that we start another month tomorrow? Crazy!
November is probably one of my favorite months out of the year, just because it kicks off the holiday season and my birthday is on the 25th.

It's been awhile since the last 30 day challenge that I did on here and today Corinne mentioned she was looking for a new one to do for November.  Luckily, I had already planned on doing some sort of Thankfulness Challenge and she willingly joined in!

So here's the deal.
For the next 30 days (starting tomorrow, Nov. 1) blog about one thing that you're thankful for.
Don't be afraid to get creative!
Post pictures or write a poem, instead of just writing one or two sentences.
Grab the button below for each post and link up with us!
For those of you who don't blog, but keep up by just reading, leave a comment and let us know what you're thankful for each day!

She's braver than I am...

Today Becca jumped out of an airplane.
I couldn't believe how calm, cool, and collected this girl was the entire day!
She was so excited and so were the boys.

It was a lot of fun watching all the other groups going up and coming down
(they were the last ones), and Becca, Steve, and Spencer's anticipation growing.
There were a lot of laughs out on that concrete strip today as we all laid down, watching the sky.

I think my favorite moment was when Rebecca came walking up to us after she landed.
The look on her face was pure joy and it almost made me cry!
Luckily Colin snapped a shot of the exact moment I'm talking about and it's one of my favorite pictures of her ever.

Here's some shots from the day!
Enjoy, and maybe we should all take a lesson and not let fear hold us back from doing something that might turn out to be amazing!

 See...pure joy...

Mmmm....God bless Texas

Game 6 of the World Series!
Last year I was rooting for the Giants...cause whether I like it or not, I'm a Northern Cali girl.
This year I'm hoping the Rangers get the win.
They've been so close and I think they deserve it.

Things are looking pretty good right now, with all the errors the Cardinals have been making.
We shall see!

I think baseball just might be one of my favorite sports.
It's easy to understand and it's a lot of fun to watch.

Rain and linking up

Hey lovelies,
I hope that you all are having a great week so far.
Thursday is one of my favorite days of the week, because of
Vampire Diaries and our house is full of people that I  love.
Today has also been great because of all the rain we've been getting.
I'm curled up in a cozy sweater and as soon as I post this I'm going to make some hot tea and watch some Gilmore Girls with my sister.

I hope when we get married we get a couple rainy Sundays!

It felt like fall

For tonight at least when the sky let lose and it started raining.
If I hadn't had my window cracked, I probably wouldn't have even known.

It made me excited for fall and for cold weather and warm clothes.
For Thanksgiving/My birthday/Christmas time!

Let's just hope that the rainy weather holds off until Sunday,
my wonderful friends, Emily and Robbie, are getting married tomorrow and would probably appreciate the sun shining!

My week on Pinterest.

Since our high in Salinas is supposed to be 62 degrees today and we're not supposed to see the sun at all, I thought that my fall pins this week would be appropriate to share.
If the weather's gonna be like this, then I'm more than ready for Fall.
I think this first pin perfectly fits how I'm feeling this morning.
Enjoy!

Senior Year

I'm now halfway through my second week of my senior year of college.  Can you say crazy?! In a little less than nine months I will have a bachelor's degree in Journalism, not a baby.

I'm super excited to see what this year has in store for me.  I moved into an amazing apartment complex (see photo below) with two amazing girls, Hannah and Kacey, and so far we've had an awesome time being roomies.  Let me tell you, this home actually feels like my home and that's a far cry from how I was feeling last year.

Even though I went home for three months over the summer, LA Fitness held my position open for me while I was gone and I have my job back.  It's going to be a little different from what I was doing originally but, at least I have a job and already know what I'm doing and the people I'll be doing it with!

Actual school work might be a tad challenging since I have some difficult teachers, but I keep telling myself that I'm almost done.

Now that I'm back at school this blog will probably be a little bit more active that it was over the summer. I apologize for my lack of writing.  Hope everyone's summer was amazing and that your Fall has started off just the way you wanted it to.
