I'm getting really excited!

There are fun times ahead for us and I can't wait! Next week we're getting our first house guest from home.  Cassie is going to Europe and she's making a stop in Raleigh and hanging out with us for a day or two before flying again.  Don't we look cute as 50's gals?

Then in just over a month my whole family is going to be here for almost a month! I'm soooo dang excited.
We're going to DC and spending time in our town and then going to get our tans on at the river.  So so so excited! Look how tan we get spending a couple weeks in sun, this was from two years ago.

Blogging hasn't been my priority lately, but I'm going to get back into it.
Have a good weekend loves!

In a week

A week from today I will be here:

Pinecrest Lake is one of my family's very favorite vacation spots next to NC.
It's going to be our last full family vacation for a little while and I'm excited to escape up to the mountains and leave all the last minute wedding craziness at home for a week.
I can't wait to lay out in the sun, read some good books, go to a movie under the stars, play corn hole, have camp fires, and all sorts of other craziness that may happen. For example:

So, so excited!

Literally the happiest 5k on the planet

Warning: Photos Ahead

Today was our Color Run in San Francisco.
It was such a fun day and I don't think I stopped smiling as I ran (almost) all of the race without stopping.
Pictures are worth a thousand words so I'll just let them do the talking for me cause I'm beat.

Let's

Oh hey July! How does it feel to have one week over and done with?
I was a little mind blown when I woke up today and realized how fast this week has gone by...
and how fast the rest of the month is going to go!

Next weekend is our color run in San Francisco. My jet-setting sisters will be in Arizona, Mexico, and Nashville over the course of two weeks, while yours truly will be here finishing up wedding details.  Then our family and our friends are going to be camping at our favorite lake for a week and when we come home we have TWO weeks until the wedding.

I'm slightly panicking about the amount of things we still have left to do.  I know that I need to start delegating and getting more people on board, but my control freak self just wants to make sure everything is done myself.

Suffice it to say, this summer is shaping up to be a whirlwind one, but I think it's probably going to be one of the most memorable yet.

It's summertime!

Taken while lying on the pool deck Saturday.

Today is the first day of Summer! Hurray!
Let the repeated playing of "Barefoot, Blue Jean Night" begin (I'm not kidding)!

I feel like this summer is going to fly right by. I mean, it is almost the end of June and July is PACKED with stuff for my whole family and then come August it's weddin' time!

In spite of all that craziness, Becca and I spent the first part of today laying out and reading in the backyard and then we worked our little butts of with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader video and a run.  I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow. But no pain, no gain right? Or so I'm just gonna keep telling myself.

I hope that the first day of Summer, even though it falls on hump day, was fun for everyone!

Hectic

My weekend was nuts! However, it was a lot of fun. These next 68 days are going to be crazy busy and I'm trying to keep a normal blogging schedule as much as possible.  There's just so much to do and such a short amount of time to do it all in!

This weekend was taken up by a lake/babysitting trip, which was a blast and quite possibly my only wakeboard trip I will get this summer and a huge bonfire at Carmel Beach with lots of good friends celebrating a bunch of people who turn 50 this year (my dad included).

Here's a quick Instagram photo dump (amandanoelm) from these two events.

1. Pretty mountains on the way to the lake.
2. View from my beach chair.
3.  Surf competition happening down the beach.
4.  Prettiest sunset ever.
5.  Bonfire and S'Mores.
6.  Pool night with the best friend and little sister round 2.

It's coming up soon!

So the Color Run is in 13 weeks, which means in 13 weeks it will be July.
Summer is right around the corner and today I found myself longing for it.
I need some hot weather, sun-kissed skin, shorts, and flip flops.
The lake, boats, skis, and North Carolina would be really nice too.
I would also like to try this...

Yes please...
What other perks to Summer are you looking forward to??

Getting off the couch.

Remember when I posted about this?
Well we got a team together and we're actually running!

So I'm going to be following this plan for the next 10-13 weeks.

Feel free to ask me how I'm doing...cause I'm sure I'm not going to want to run...

Untitled

Currently at my parent's house, where I'm living again until the wedding, we have no backyard.
They're in the process of landscaping and there's no grass that's been put in yet.
When I woke up this morning the weather was super nice, so I ran downstairs to try and soak up some rays before the sun left our brand-new deck.  All I got was about 45 minutes, but already my freckles on my face are starting to appear.  I love them and wish they would really hang around all year long, instead of fading so fast during the winter.  I honestly can't wait for summer.

And now, because last summer he inspired my anthem, Jake Owen's new song.

Getting my run on?

Ms. Natalie Hill posted today about The Color Run.
It's a 5K, that's coming to a bunch of cities all across the US.

I don't run...ever. I mean never ever have I willingly gone on a run.
That doesn't mean that I couldn't whip myself into shape, which is something I want to do before the wedding anyways, and be able to run 3 miles.
I'm pretty sure that I could convince my sisters and some other running friends to join in with me too if we do the one in San Francisco OR I could potentially convince my will-be-by-then-husband to run it in October, in Charlotte! How fun would that be as a newlywed activity?

Check out their promo video.  You can't tell me that it doesn't make running look like fun.

So we'll have to see if this might be a fun blog post coming up in July or October.
Stay tuned!

Bad blogger?

Sorry for not blogging recently!
I've been busy and without a computer, chilling here...

Spent a crazy couple of days out on the lake with the camping crew.
We had a lot of good boarding/skiing/tubing time and some really fun hanging out at camp time.
Pictures soon to follow!
I need a shower right now!
