Friday/Saturday letters

Dear Becca, thanks for asking me to come along on your mini roadtrip this week. I had fun being in the car and getting to have some hot weather for a few hours.  Dear sisters and Corinne, I love staying up till 3 in three morning talking and laughing with the three of you. I'm going to miss our sleepovers.  Dear Ryan Gosling, sometimes I wonder what went through your head when you accepted movie roles.  "Drive" was a little bit ridiculous and I didn't get it at all.  Dear Phillip Phillips, I predicted your win from your audition and I can't stop listening to "Home."  It's such a good song.  Dear Arizona Green Tea with Peach Juice, you are the perfect summer drink (next to regular sweet tea of course)! I love you!  Dear almost-husband, less than 50 days...we're almost there and I can't wait to skip down the aisle to you and become your wife.

I don't think I could ask for better summer weather in Salinas...although it could be a tad warmer and I'd still be as happy as a clam.  Today there wasn't a trace of fog in our area.  It was warm and not too windy.

I wasn't freezing when I went outside to catch some sun at 10 in the morning and when my mom and I went on a walk tonight, we weren't shivering like we normally would.

I'm super thankful for this weather!

monday maybes

Maybe I was going to post picture of the shower, but my sister took her camera to school with her.

Maybe we're really bad at taking pictures at events and I don't have a lot.

Maybe I didn't feel myself de-stress today until I worked out for an hour.

Maybe I'm getting a little bit of a butt because I'm working out.

Maybe it's blowing my mind that June is almost over.

Maybe I went to a baby shower tonight and Becca and I both kept saying that we want babies.

Maybe I get really sad thinking about leaving the babies I watch.

Maybe I'm about to go to bed at 10:00 tonight.

Maybe things like Instagram make me happy...here's a sneak peak at the shower thanks to my bridesmaid, Cassie!

Dear groomsmen, I appreciate that you are going to be part of our day, but shopping for y'all without any of you present is a pain in the butt. Dear wedding, I'm ready for all the planning to be done.  Dear sisters/moms, thank you for planning my bridal shower. I'm sorry I keep forgetting about it, but that's what happens when you completely trust your people to plan a great party and don't think twice about it.  Dear Shock Top, thank you for being so cold and refreshing after a long day of shopping.  Dear dad, thank you for buying us things for the wedding. Your bar that you bought today is super legit and I'm excited about it.  Dear Summer, go by fast, but not too fast ok.

1. Tractor traffic jams. I used to miss these when I was living in LA.

It's summertime!

Today is the first day of Summer! Hurray! 

Let the repeated playing of "Barefoot, Blue Jean Night" begin (I'm not kidding)!

I feel like this summer is going to fly right by. I mean, it is almost the end of June and July is PACKED with stuff for my whole family and then come August it's weddin' time! 

In spite of all that craziness, Becca and I spent the first part of today laying out and reading in the backyard and then we worked our little butts of with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader video and a run.  I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow. But no pain, no gain right? Or so I'm just gonna keep telling myself.

I hope that the first day of Summer, even though it falls on hump day, was fun for everyone!

Motto

One of my love languages is definitely quality time. 

I feel loved when people that I love spend time with me and/or take time to talk to me or call me or write me or visit me. I love love love all of that.  This new song has inspired my new motto, because I want to make sure that all the people I love know that I would give all my time to them in a heartbeat.

Josh Turner's new song out on the radio right now is called "Time is Love."

This song is perfect and amazing for people who have the same love language as me.

We're hittin some big numbers over here

Today was a day of big and small, but big numbers around these parts.

My dad turned the big 50 today! 

We celebrated by throwing him a surprise dinner with 20 of our closest friend. It's always a great time when we get together.

Today is also the 2 month mark in the wedding countdown! 

Two months?? We've got this. It's going to go by so fast and I can't wait!

Bossy.

I am a oldest child.

We tend to be a lot a bit bossy sometimes.

I spent this weekend being one of several bosses, in charge of a big event and lots of people.

Let me tell you, it is hard work making sure 70-something people are where they are supposed to be and doing what they're supposed to be doing for three days in a row, from sunup to wayyyyy past sundown.

Sometimes I get on my own nerves with my bossiness and my control-freak tendencies.

I can imagine I probably got on some peoples' nerves this weekend, but I really did have the best intentions, I promise!  I guess I just need to remember that...

Dad's day

I for the life of me can't find a decent picture of my dad and me on my laptop. 

This picture of him and my baby sister Becca will have to do!  It really is the cutest picture ever.

My dad is pretty amazing. He's super hilarious, kind, loving, stubborn, and is one of the best gift givers I know!  He also loves Jesus Christ with all his heart and is a great role model for me and my siblings.

He and I butt heads a lot, but that's just because I inherited my stubborn streak from him.  We're two peas in a pod sometimes.

Dear high school students, you make me feel way older than I am. Thank you for providing me with lots of entertainment this weekend.  Dear weekend, you're not going to be as relaxing and chill like you normally are.  Thankfully Monday can act as my Saturday.  Dear fellow TEC-mates, I'm sorry if I get bossy and grumpy.  It's the lack of sleep, not you.  I promise.  Dear friends and family who are invited to our wedding, if you have viewed our website, you should have RSVP'd while you were there. We have over 200 views and less than 40 responses. Get on that for me ok?  Dear fellow bloggers, thanks for being an inspiration day after day. I love reading your posts and comments. Dear fiance, I'm ready for this week to be over. I miss you a lot and need to hear your voice. Phone date soon.

Hectic

My weekend was nuts! However, it was a lot of fun. These next 68 days are going to be crazy busy and I'm trying to keep a normal blogging schedule as much as possible.  There's just so much to do and such a short amount of time to do it all in!

This weekend was taken up by a lake/babysitting trip, which was a blast and quite possibly my only wakeboard trip I will get this summer and a huge bonfire at Carmel Beach with lots of good friends celebrating a bunch of people who turn 50 this year (my dad included).

Awesome:

Being sore in the morning from your workout the day before.

Still being able to run despite the soreness.

Having Corinne come home for the weekend.

I've been slacking on my running...oops.

I went from going every single day to just a few times a week.

This is typically what happens when I get in a "work out" mood.

Well, I'm snapping out of it today.  We have a little over a month until our color run and I'm going every day until then. Ask me how I'm doing ok?

Maybe I slept in till past noon today.

Maybe I was up until well past 4 in the morning.

Maybe between the hours of 3 and 4 a.m., I was outside with a bunch of neighbors.

Maybe there was a really big accident in our little court

(No one was hurt, thank goodness).

Maybe I'm quietly thankful for the rain today.

Maybe going to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom made me wish I had kept up my dream of training killer whales...for just a few minutes anyways.

Maybe I'm really hoping that this month will fly by.

Dear "Delirium" trilogy, thank you for providing me with two days of fantastic reading. I only wish that the third book was coming out sooner. (I totally recommend these books for a summer read!).  Dear sisters, you entertain me and make me laugh. I'm going to miss the two of you when I'm gone.  Speaking of being gone, Dear NC, I'm really jonesing for a hot, humid summer at the river. I wish I could come visit you.  Dear Siren, you are the sweetest little kitten and I'm glad our parents caved into letting you be part of our family.  Dear fiancee, the countdown continues.  11 weeks to go!  I love you and will be your personal secretary for the rest of your life.
