Weekend in photos.

1/ Exploring Carthage with my love and finding this amazing abandoned house we want to fix up! 2/ Finding another abandoned building we want to turn into a restaurant and bar. We don't have big plans for our future at all!  3/ Taking a dirt road through post to get home and finding a pretty little bridge and creek.  4/ Summer storms are my absolute favorite.  5/  Watching the sun set on the back porch with this adorable face.

A late list // 52 Lists Project

We got our computer fixed. Here's my late list.

This one really made me stop and think. It made me think about how I can be a better wife, daughter, sister, and friend.  How can you show love to others? Anything I missed?

rainy day

It's a bad case of the Monday's day.  Helped out by the fact that it's been raining for almost three days straight and it's supposed to be raining for awhile.  We had a really nice weekend though, despite the weather.  It was the kind of weekend that made us feel young. We slept all day and stayed up all night and had lots of fun with friends.  

Although, maybe I'm not so young because I feel like I need to recover today. So this is my plan...

Except I'm getting up off my butt and making dinner and folding laundry and sweeping the floor.
Oh! Our computer isn't working...thanks to sharp puppy teeth and so I'll do my list later on in the week.

They are not glamorous! The lie of satin sheets.

Kim Novak makes satin sheets look so glamorous.  It's a LIE though.  Satin sheets are not glamorous or sexy or better than your average cotton sheets!

When we first got to NC with our queen size bed, I realized that we didn't own sheets for it.  A quick trip to Walmart resulted in my husband begging for satin sheets...fake, cheetah print, satin sheets.  I said, "Sure, why not?"  We were newlyweds and having fun, but those sheets were not fun.  The first few months we used them it was extremely hot outside so we had a fan going in our room.  The sheets are so slippery that they would fly right off of us if we didn't hold them down while we slept.  The genius who came up with pairing satin sheets with satin pillow cases should be shot, because your pillow would just slip right out from underneath your head in the middle of the night.  The one thing that was nice about satin sheets was that your hair would look better in the morning.  I bring this up now, almost a year later, because we pulled them out last night (after an excited puppy got too excited on our bed and we needed to change the sheets) and I realized again just how much I despise satin sheets.

So a word of warning, don't buy satin sheets. Ever.

Maybe..

Maybe I've been soaking up the sun everyday since Sunday and I'm loving it.

Maybe my husband and I think we beat each other up in our sleep...#restlesssleepersforthewin.

Maybe I'm SUPER bummed that Cassie's exploding ovaries got in the way of our three days together.

Maybe I'm suffering from major writers block lately and feeling very uninspired.

Maybe I've procrastinated folding laundry for almost a week.

Maybe I piled it all on my bed so that I would have an excuse to get it done today.

Maybe the closer it gets to seeing my family the more homesick I get.

Maybe I've realized it's starting to bug me that we can't be at the beach in 20 minutes.

Maybe I'm gonna go fold that laundry now...maybe...

I could have gone one forever with this one!  I'm really loving this project. It gives me something to look forward to one Monday.  Check out the other lists so far.

I'm getting really excited!

There are fun times ahead for us and I can't wait! Next week we're getting our first house guest from home.  Cassie is going to Europe and she's making a stop in Raleigh and hanging out with us for a day or two before flying again.  Don't we look cute as 50's gals?

Then in just over a month my whole family is going to be here for almost a month! I'm soooo dang excited.

We're going to DC and spending time in our town and then going to get our tans on at the river.  So so so excited! Look how tan we get spending a couple weeks in sun, this was from two years ago.

Blogging hasn't been my priority lately, but I'm going to get back into it.

A rainy day list // 52 Lists Project

There's nothing like pouring rain to make you want to stay in bed all day.

Today has gotten off to a rough start and I need to wake up!

Here's the 4th list in my 52 Lists Project.

I could have kept going on and on with my dreams and goals, but there's only so much space!

Sleep.

I go to bed with socks on almost every night and every morning I wake up and they are set neatly beside the bed.  Not stuffed at the bottom, like my hubby's are (I swear every time I change the sheets I wonder how he hasn't ran out of socks!), I physically take my socks off and put them down on the floor.  What I thought about today was I don't remember doing it.  I take my socks off every night and don't remember it.  I also don't remember taking my retainer out of my mouth on the nights I wear it.  Seriously, I don't know how long it stays in before I take it out.  

Anyways, enough of my rambling. There are some things I remember, like getting head butted or elbowed abruptly awake.  My roommate is a violent sleeper sometimes, but I don't love him any less.
