Balancing Act

I'm realizing that I have no balancing skills when it comes to
having my love around and going through my daily routines.
I just want my regular life to pause, stop, go away, and let us have uninterrupted time together before it goes away again...this time for longer than usual.
At the same time, I'm relishing in the normalcy that we get to have for a little while.

Either way...
I'm just really happy right now.

Stumbling

Thought I would share some more things that caught my eye this week.

Love this vintage inspired engagement shoot.

Makes me want to use chalkboard paint in my house!

Thought this prayer was hilarious.

If only I had straight hair.

Wants one of these libraries in my house.

Liked this blog post a lot.

This poetry idea is awesome.

And once again, a sweet picture that made me smile.

Possibly will make homework difficult.

Hannah and I got her Super Nintendo working today.
This might pose a problem to the next couple weeks of school.
My homework may suffer.

Reunited

When I think about last school year it makes me laugh that Corinne and I basically lived with each other, even though we live in two different cities an hour apart from each other.
Multiple times a week she was coming to LB or I was going to Northridge.  We would escape our issues and "home" troubles and some of those days we spent in my tiny bedroom on my bed, doing nothing are what kept me sane.

This year is different though and it makes me sad. We've barely seen each other because of our crazy schedules.  I think I can count the amount of times I've seen her this semester alone on just one hand.

Tonight though she's coming to LB and we're gonna go get a celebratory, back-together drink with Hannah and tomorrow morning we're gonna take advantage of my pool and have some much needed catch-up/best friend time. Hurray!

Have an amazing Friday loves.

Things that caught my eye

I've been using StumbleUpon a lot lately and it's introduced me to a lot of new and awesome things.
I thought I would share a couple that have caught my eye lately.

I love these photos and want to explore these places!

Thinks over the summer I'll try doing this to my nails.

Dreamed after seeing this engagement shoot.

Thought this picture was precious.

This website made me want to take every single one of these trips.

Wants my own house so I can decorate in these colors.

Wasted a few minutes of my life clicking through this.

And an amazing picture that once again brought my mind to summer.

P.S. This "surf" was inspired by Chelsea over at Three Birds.  I love her weekly surfs!

Getting excited: DC

This summer we're (my family) are going to head back East once again for an amazing summer vacation.
Love!

We'll make our way to Washington, North Carolina to visit our family/our favorite place,
but first we're going back to Washington, D.C.!
The last time I was there I was ten years old.  My 13 year old brother was in diapers for goodness sake!  The highlight of my trip was seeing the Hope Diamond and besides the fact that it was super hot, that's all I really remember.

I have a feeling that this part of the trip is going to be super fun.  I've already been trying to find some fun/unique places to go besides all the standard tourist spots.  The Washingtonian and Naomi over at The Rockstar Diaries have already given me some good ideas.

Once the craziness of school is over, I'll probably go into serious trip planning mode, but right now it's fun to dream and trust me, I'm dreaming of summer a lot right now!

I hope ya'll have an amazing week.

Don't blame me.

Confession: I'm a book reader who owns a Kindle.
However, this does not make me a killer of the printed word!
With Borders going out of business everywhere and other independent owned bookstores closing their doors, a lot of people are pointing fingers at electronic readers.  Don't get me wrong, I still love the feel of a book in my hand and the ability for my fingers to change the pages.  I'll always be a lover of books with pretty covers and illustrations, but I love my Kindle.  I traveled with it in February and it was amazing. I've always been the girl that has at least two books in her carry on and two more in her suitcase for the trip back.  Having multiple books in one compact and light place was wonderful.  It's also just nice to be able to take it with me everywhere and it doesn't weigh my purse down too much.  Overall, I would highly recommend getting one if you're a reader.

That being said, yesterday Hannah and I went to Downtown LB with our friend Katrina and we stumble upon what was formerly Acres of Books.  It was opened at their current location in 1960, but in October of 2008 it closed.  This makes me sad! I remember James telling me about this place when we first started dating and I'm so bummed that we didn't get a chance to go.  The girls and I peeked into the only available window and even if it's been closed for three years there's still crates of books left inside.  I want to know what they're going to do with them.  As of right now the property has been sold and they're going to knock it down and build an Art Exchange.  Luckily Hannah had her camera and snapped a couple shots of the outside.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
Go read a book!

Sister Inspired.

Today Becca posted a Happy List on her blog and I liked it so much I thought I'd write one too.

1.  The sound of thunder.
2.  The feeling of immense relief you get after taking a test.
3.  Hour long phone calls with James.
4.  A good cup of coffee.
5.  Writing poetry.
6.  Being tan.
7.  The fact that in exactly two months (as of tomorrow), I will forever be done with school.
8.  Road trips...or the dream of them anyways.
9.  Sleeping in, until your body wakes you up.
10.  Watching really crappy movies with Hannah and talking all the way through them.

Another happy list for you
and a pretty picture that made me smile...
